Cardigan Construction

  1. Number of Squares
    • Make a total of 51 granny squares.
  2. Borders
    • Create a border for the lower part of the cardigan and the inside portion.
    • For this, use the black yarn and a 5 mm crochet hook.
    • Chain 9.
    • Work 8 half double crochets in the second chain from the hook down the row.
    • Chain 1, turn, and continue working 8 half double crochets in each row until the border reaches the desired length.
    • Create two wrist cuffs using the same method.
  3. Sewing Squares Together
    • Lay out all the squares in the desired pattern.
    • Use black yarn to sew the squares together. Ensure the "ugly" sides are facing up while sewing.
    • Use a threading needle to sew down the middle, alternating stitches between squares to ensure a clean seam.
    • After sewing squares together, weave in any extra ends.
  4. Attaching Wrist Cuffs
    • Turn both the sleeve and cuff inside out.
    • Align the cuff to the sleeve opening.
    • Use a threading needle and black yarn to sew the cuff to the sleeve.
    • Ensure to cinch the stitches slightly to give the puffed sleeve look.
  5. Final Touches
    • Sew the two borders (inside and lower part) to the main cardigan.
    • Weave in all remaining yarn ends for a clean finish.

Done! Your vibrant neon granny square cardigan is complete. Enjoy your new handmade creation!
